About Miranda Maverick
Grappling, intelligence and a long search for the next level
Miranda Maverick reached the UFC after standing out in Invicta FC and quickly emerged as one of the most promising young flyweights. Her start combined important results with some very close losses, including a controversial split decision against Maycee Barber and a later loss to Erin Blanchfield.
Fighting style
Maverick bases much of her success on physical strength, wrestling and grappling. She looks to close distance, control from the clinch and use takedowns to work from top positions. Her style also reflects a fairly methodical approach to fighting: she tries to stack positions and correct decisions rather than depend on chaotic exchanges.
Recent form
After losing to Jasmine Jasudavicius in 2023, she won four straight fights and moved close to the top of the rankings again. That run ended in June 2025, when Rose Namajunas beat her by decision. Maverick is the kind of flyweight who stays near the top through a combination of physicality, grappling and accumulated experience.
