True Contender MMA is an independent UFC rankings platform powered by a proprietary Elo-inspired rating system.

The goal is not to copy official rankings. It is to provide a broader, more analytical alternative that orders fighters by competitive performance inside UFC.

Official rankings show the champion and top 15. This project goes further by including prospects, veterans, underrated fighters and competitors outside the main divisional narrative.

MMA debates about who deserves a higher rank often depend on perception, popularity and promotional narratives.

Official rankings are valuable, but they do not always represent every fighter’s performance consistently.

True Contender MMA offers a complementary reference based on results, competitive context and fight-by-fight progression.

Each fighter has a rating that moves after every bout according to the opponent’s previous level, the result, the method and any title-fight context.

Beating an elite opponent is worth more than defeating a lower-rated fighter. A clear finish also carries more weight than a close decision.

Elo compares expectation with reality: outperforming expectations raises a rating, while underperforming lowers it.

Elo Rating is an approximate measure of the competitive value a fighter has accumulated within a division.

A lower rating does not mean a fighter is poor: they may have few UFC bouts, unusually difficult opposition or limited evidence in the promotion.
