About Maycee Barber
Pressure and aggression on the way to a second rebuild
Maycee Barber arrived in the UFC with enormous expectations and the stated aim of becoming one of the youngest champions in history. Her early run was marked by several quick finishes, until a knee injury suffered during her loss to Roxanne Modafferi abruptly halted her progress.
Fighting style
'The Future' is not a striker built mainly on distance or precision. Her best version appears when she can pressure, close space and turn the fight into a physical battle. From the clinch she lands knees and elbows, forces exchanges and uses her strength to keep opponents working constantly. That aggression became the foundation of her rebuild after her early losses.
The streak and the rematch
After losing to Alexa Grasso in 2021, Barber won seven fights in a row and got back into the title conversation, capping the streak with a win over Karine Silva in December 2025. The rematch with Grasso in March 2026 ended very differently: the Mexican knocked her out in the first round, leaving Barber once again needing to rebuild her path to a title shot.
