About Dione Barbosa
Aggressive grappling from the Brazilian school
Dione Barbosa reached the UFC after earning her contract with a quick submission on Dana White's Contender Series. The Brazilian had already built much of her career around grappling and kept that identity inside the promotion.
Fighting style
Barbosa looks for takedowns, transitions and constant finishing opportunities. Her attacks include armbars, rear-naked chokes and arm-triangle chokes, and several of her wins have come in the first round.
A 2026 surge
After alternating wins and losses in her first appearances, 2026 marked a big step forward: she beat Melissa Gatto and then submitted Anna Melisano in the first round. That run put her back on the rise at flyweight.
