About Amanda Lemos
Brazilian power and a shot at the championship
Amanda Lemos has been one of the most dangerous fighters at strawweight for years. The Brazilian made her UFC debut in 2017 and, after an uneven start, put together a run of finishes that quickly took her to the top of the division and to a title fight against Zhang Weili at UFC 292.
Fighting style
Her game is built around power. Lemos strikes with real intent to do damage, works well with her right hand and has finishing ability that is unusual at 115 pounds, as her knockout and submission wins over Marina Rodriguez and Michelle Waterson-Gomez show. That power makes her a constant threat even in fights she is losing.
Ups and downs among the elite
Her career has alternated very different stretches: important wins over Mackenzie Dern and Iasmin Lucindo sit alongside losses to some of the best grapplers in the division, among them Tatiana Suarez, Gillian Robertson and Alexia Thainara in 2025 and 2026. That contrast defines her profile fairly well: a fighter able to win any fight on the feet who struggles more when it moves to the ground.
