About Wang Cong
World-class kickboxing experience carried into the Octagon
Wang Cong came to professional MMA relatively late, but with far more combat sports experience than a conventional prospect. The Chinese fighter previously had a long career in kickboxing and sanda, and even beat Valentina Shevchenko during her time as a kickboxer.
Fighting style
That experience shows immediately in her striking. Wang manages distance well, combines straight punches with kicks and has a composure that is unusual for someone with so few professional MMA fights. Although her ground game is still evolving, her technical base on the feet lets her impose very orderly fights.
Recent form
Her only professional loss came against Gabriella Fernandes by submission, but she responded with a string of new wins. In 2026 she beat Eduarda Moura and then Tracy Cortez, quickly establishing herself as a new threat at flyweight.
